2016 Olympics, candidate city logos

Rio, Brazil is designed by Ana Soter and uses a stylised Sugarloaf Mountain in the shape of a heart, with an exclamation mark replacing the ‘1′ in ‘20!6′ which symbolises the excitement of the games.
Tokyo, Japan is designed by Kenji Ekuan of GK Design Group and taking the slogan “Uniting our worlds,” into consideration, the logo ties the five Olympic colors in the form of a traditional Japanese knot. The knot, known as ‘musubi,’ has long been utilized in Japan to signify blessings during times of celebration.
Chicago, USA is designed by VSA Partners and uses a six-pointed Chicago star representing a compass pointing out in all directions of the world.
And finally, Madrid, Spain is designed by 26 year old Argentine Joaquin Malle, who’s logo rose to the top, above 2,700 submissions, in a public competition. Named “Corle” the use of the hand in Olympic colours is intended to visualise the unity among different cultures, people, and nationalities., The is also the subtle but relevant silhouette of an ‘M’
