Skittles goes Social Media

I have seen a few instances of this before, but mainly creative agencies, so qudos to the people behind this, having the balls to do something that can whislt it is hot news at least leave them open to all kinds of unsavoury comments (if you look closely at the screen grab I have used there are even a few there, which I really can’t be bothered replacing).
The home page is their Twitter site, product info uses Wikipedia, Media uses YouTube and Flickr, and friends of course is Facebook. They have even adapted their tag line, to Interweb the rainbow… Check for yourself here. Also I was forwarded a link here, which is a piece of interesting background to the idea.
Good stuff.
Footnote. Just wanted to add a little point on the site, mainly the banner navigation which rotates between a blatant promotion to interestingly an ad which is promoting exercise, and living healthy through the (something I thought I would never see) Mars healthy living site. This is particularly pertinent to me as my world at the moment is Diabetes Type 2, and thinking concepts of how my client can bring about change, in a world that is getting fatter and fatter. And simply to see one of the worlds largest junk food producers promoting being healthy, adn eating this stuff in moderation, is certainly a sign of hopefully better, and more aware times.

Total coincidence, but you’ll see the similarity when our new site launches on Thursday!
