Since I posted this earlier on the work blog, it has spread like wild-fire, so just incase you missed it I present a rather splendid Nike World Cup ad, directed by Babel and 21 Grams director Alejandro G Inarritu, and brought to us by W&K Amsterdam.
Not only is the ad superb, but an equally splendid viral teaser campaign has been running prior to the ads launch yesterday. You can view a ‘Rooney’ teaser here and read more here.
Every now and again amongst all the visual stimulation I subject myself to on a daily basis, something just pops out smacks me around the face. One such case is the above images created by UK design agency Parris Wakefield. I can’t quite put my finger on why they jumped out quite so much, as they are pretty simple images, almost looking like they were simply created using a Photoshop filter, whatever, once you know what they are, they become quite unique.
Above are re-imagined cityscapes belonging to 3 of the cities I have had the pleasure of living and working, Copenhagen, Sydney and London.
They are other cities which can be seen here. They are also available to buy as prints, postcardsor as giant wall vinyls, here.
I came across this delightful promotional website for an album release. Nice simple, but clever use of streaming. Click here and have play with the fullscreen options.
I am loving the above work created by San Francisco-based ‘Scloopy’, for McCann Erickson Manchester and their poster campaign for a mental health organisation. The two six sheet posters are for Leeds Counselling and will appear in doctors’ surgeries, clinics, student halls and other suitable locations throughout Leeds.
They feature faces are made of ‘strings of type’ recounting the types of issues people need to discuss at counselling.
‘Scloopy’ who’s work you can see here, created the tasty images using a self written piece of software in Processing.
The Creative Review Annual 2009 was joyfully waiting for me when I got home this evening, and only 7 pages in I came across the above stunningness, and Best in Book. Autechre’s 9th album, Quaristice, designed the sadly now closed Designers Republic
Fantastic stuff from Mr Mavignier, and a great find thanks to itsnicethat (thanks).
Born in beautiful Rio de Janiero in 1925, educated at Hochschule für Gestaltung in Ulm under Max Bill and seemingly he has spent the rest of his career in Germany. Click here to see more, but be warned the site is not only a bit all over the place but in German, but well worth a good look.
Fantastic stuff from the new Wallzo site. Very pleased to say I managed to get my hands on one of those Hot Chip laser etched beauties, and I can assure you it loks even better, framed in real life.
Great stuff.
London super club Fabric have a habit of getting various talents to produce beautiful and memorable posters for them, but the above and latest via Village Green, and created by illustrator Garry Milne, can have the word ‘stunning’ attached to them in my eyes.
